Productivity enhancements
The updated John Deere 1050 P-Tier dozer has a standard 1727 mm (168 in.) semi-u blade to increase capacity and move more material pass after pass. Along with a wider blade, the 1050 P is now configured with a redesigned blade linkage which moves the blade rearward and reduces the overall length of the machine by 432 mm (17 in.), improving balance and grading performance.
Several changes have been made to enhance visibility to the blade corners on the 1050 P. The inverted tilt/pitch cylinder(s) give a wider view to the end bits and prevent material from building up on the cylinder’s seal. The back of the blade and side of the push beams have been fabricated to ensure operators have optimum visibility directly behind the cutting edge.
With the new 356 horsepwer JD14 (13.6 L) engine and 43273 kg (95,400 lb). of operating weight, operators will put power to the ground through class leading 2616 mm (103 in.) of track on ground.
- Scalloped blade corners and push beams along with inverted tilt/pitch cylinders allow direct visibility behind the cutting edge
- Class leading horsepower, track on ground, and operating weight, and blade width unlock new levels of productivity
- The JD14 engine provides reliable horsepower with less fuel consumption and maintenance
- The single canister aftertreatment system meets emission regulations without the need for a diesel particulate filter (DPF).
- Hydraulic lifters eliminate valve lash adjustments throughout the life of the engine
Purpose-built package for the waste industry
John Deere dozers offer a specialized waste handling package with purpose built guarding and features specifically for the waste industry. With airborne debris and various materials to handle, landfill operations pose many unique challenges. John Deere waste handler dozers reduce downtime potential, increase durability, and are built to keep material flowing in these harsh environments.
All John Deere waste handler dozers use debris management sealing to keep debris from entering the machine and a semi-u blade with integrated trash rack. The high debris perforated side shields are extruded to maximize surface area and prevent plugging along with a fan that automatically reverses to blow away debris and keep the machine running cool.
A high debris engine air precleaner is also used to maximize air flow. Additional protection is built into the engine compartment with exhaust components enclosed in heat wrap to reduce fire risks along with an alternator screen. Additional guarding is built around the final drives protecting the seals from damage as well as fender guarding that reduces risk of damage from debris following the tracks. The final drive sprockets are built with recesses to allow debris a path to escape, this deters packing and excess track tension.
Additional options are available to tackle the trash, such striker bars, a rear storage compartment, cab screens, and open center track shoes.
Advanced hydrostatic and hydraulic features
John Deere production dozers have the weight and power to take on your most demanding environments and thanks to John Deere’s field proven dual path hydrostatic transmission, your machine keeps power to both tracks 100 percent of the time and gives you and your operators effortless control.
Tackling tasks is simple with infinite speed control. No need to shift or manage multiple pedals. Controls are common from our small dozers to our largest, operators can be confident and comfortable from dusk to dawn and beyond.
John Deere’s load sensing power management system with dynamic braking and hill hold provide smooth operation in any situation. The machine automatically adjusts ground speed based on load which allows you to concentrate on blade control. When pushing down steep slopes the machine will maintain constant travel speed to prevent the machine from running away and if the FNR switch is moved to neutral, the machine will come to a stop.
Every operator has their own preference when it comes to “feel” of the hydraulic and transmission systems. John Deere dozers offer tunable settings that adjust response rates and speed giving you the ability to fine-tune the machine to your operator’s preference and experience.
John Deere Connected Support™
John Deere Connected Support prevents downtime and efficiently resolves issues with revolutionary technology-based solutions. When you buy John Deere equipment, you expect reliability. You also know that problems can happen, and a product is only as good as the support behind it. That’s why John Deere equipment is prepared with technology that senses potential issues and can alert you and your dealer promptly—in the cab or anywhere you are.
John Deere Connected Support is an innovative change to support that leverages technology and the connectivity of JDLink™ telematics to prevent downtime and resolve problems faster. These tools decrease downtime by an average of 20 percent, enabling faster responses to unexpected problems and reducing technician trips to your machine…all at no extra cost. For some issues, unplanned downtime can even be prevented altogether through prediction of the issue.
With your permission, John Deere Connected Support:
- Keeps you running by monitoring machine health and promptly alerting you and your dealer of issues
- Saves time by remotely viewing machine operating parameters, reducing trips to the machine
- Reduces or even eliminates technician trips to a machine through remote diagnostic and remote software reprogramming capabilities
- Connects experts with the information needed to respond to downtime faster and prevent it altogether
With more than a decade of experience leveraging connectivity to solve problems, no one else has the experience, tools, and knowledge to keep you running as John Deere and your John Deere dealer can. Connected Support is an in-base feature on all John Deere products with factory or field-installed JDLink.
Lessen operating costs with increased durability
The redesigned suspended double-bogie undercarriage on the 1050 P-Tier reduces vibrations throughout the machine, improving ride quality and component durability. The isolated idler and cross bar dampen transitions in rough terrain. The suspended double bogie undercarriage reduces cab vibrations up to 75 percent in rocky terrain.
A new JD14 engine is integrated into the updated 1050 P-Tier dozer. The 13.6 liter engine with upgraded durability also improves fuel economy and reduces maintenance. The new JD14 engine meets emissions regulations without the use of a diesel particulate filter (DPF) eliminating concerns of plugging or damage. The new side-by-side coolers improve cooling efficiency and access to the cooling package has never been simpler.
Enjoy wide-open drivetrain component access with a cab that tilts a full 70 degrees in only minutes. In every operation uptime relies on maintenance, ensure daily checks and maintenance can be performed efficiently with same side grouped access to service points. The automatic reversing fan keeps your machine running cool with less time spent cleaning the coolers.
Additional options are available to configure the machine to your application. The extended life undercarriage option adds wear protection with SC-2™ coated bushings to reduce your operating costs and extend undercarriage wear life. John Deere’s extended life undercarriage provides up to twice the pin & bushing wear life, lengthening the amount of run time before service decisions must be made.
- Suspended double-bogie undercarriage reduces machine vibrations improving comfort and durability
- New JD14 engine with upgraded durability and side-by-side cooling package
- 70-degree cab tilt provides unparalleled access to hydraulic and transmission components in minutes
- Undercarriage options to best match your machine to your operation and work environment
Cab improves comfort and reduces fatigue
A comfortable operating environment isn’t just an option – the right features, in the right places, let you and your operators work hard and enjoy long days on the job. John Deere large dozers offers a spacious cab with angled seat (15 degrees) for optimum comfort when using rear attachments. The updated ergonomic joysticks are common across all current John Deere dozers and include an integrated rocker switch to control travel direction. The high back seat is fully adjustable with air ride suspension along with optional heat and ventilation. The sealed switch module, including keyless start, centralizes switches and buttons into one area to keep things simple.
- Angled seat with updated ergonomic controls and integrated direction switch, along with a premium heated and ventilated seat option to lessen fatigue.
- A larger front window and lowered hood allows operators to see more in front of the machine.
- Various LED lighting options available on large dozers ensure the machine is well lit during times of low sunlight or when operating overnight enabling increased visibility to the operators surroundings. LED lights ensure that lights will last nearly the life of the machine resulting in less downtime and an increase in luminosity.
- Centralized Sealed Switch Module groups common machine switches and buttons together and reduces mechanical switches that can fail overtime.
- The Operator Presence System ensures that an operator is present in the seat with the seat belt fastened before releasing the park brake.
